Welcome to Sociology! This is a semester elective. This class explores human behavior in group situations, both real and perceived. We focus on the dynamics of group behavior and the interaction of individuals in a group environment. We research basic sociological theories and tools of analysis. We investigate relationships to other behavioral science disciplines, such as anthropology and psychology. Social stratification, sexism, ageism, racism and other social issues are examined. Additionally, we will analyze the effects of social structure, practices and institutions upon the individual (you!) in everyday life.
